Prepared, Not Scared
It’s no secret that our society is changing and becoming more and more violent. Events that once shocked and appalled us now seem like “everyday news”. And more and more, we are seeing acts of aggression both in the workplace and on the streets.
In 2002, Sorensen, Wilder & Associates (SWA) introduced our program “Arrive Alive”, which was intended to provide insight to workers who made a living outside the home or office in staying safe on the streets. And, while that program remains popular today, we often received feedback (primarily from female participants) that they would like a program that included a hands-on component on how they can disable an attacker long enough to get away.
Based on that feedback, we are excited to have recently introduced the newest program in our Essentials of Aggression Management product line called Prepared, Not Scared. This four-hour program is designed to educate attendees in ways to minimize the risk of being involved in an incident, as well as to train them in simple and effective techniques to “maim and escape”. Feedback from our first classes has been outstanding, and the attendees have left with a new sense of confidence and awareness.
This program is general in content, meaning it has not been designed for any specific industry. Much like our Arrive Alive program, this program is appropriate for home healthcare care agencies, hospice agencies, social workers, traveling educators, outside sales reps…anyone making a living outside the home or office.
Modern times require modern solutions to security and safety situations.
Unfortunately employees, visitors, customers, vendors and intruders regularly create havoc and disruptions to our business. SWA has the experience operational experts to help you prevent, prapare, mitigate, and recover from dangerous situations and deadly disasters.
